Type the subject heading you want to find, then press the Enter key or click Search.
Type as much or as little of the subject as you want. For example:
- children's rights
- motion pictures
- United States History Civil War, 1861-1865
The subject search uses a specific, controlled vocabulary for describing Library material found in the LIBRARY OF CONGRESS SUBJECT HEADINGS volumes located at the Reference Desk.
(Click here for online help with LCSH)
The easiest way to find and use LCSH is to start with a keyword search and then look at the Subject Headings of a relevant item to locate other related material or ask a Librarian for assistance.
